JUJUBES


50 gms unflavoured gelatin
500 gms sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
oil 1 drop for greasing

Method

Grease a medium square glass dish, keep it aside.

Mix all the above and put it on medium flame for 10 minutes. Make sure everything is dissolved and boils. Add desired colour and mix well. Now pour this liquid in the greased dish and let it set for 5 hours. Once set cut it in desired shapes and roll it in sugar and leave it for 1 hour to dry. Store it in a jar. Its yummy gummy. Kids just love it and I love it too.

Thanks :) I am definitely going to try this.
How big a pan do I need to set the above proprtions that u have given.
Also do u pour like half an inch in the pan, and when do u cut them in cubes ?

Hi priti,
you can use any square serving dish. 1/2 an inch is fine. Let it set for 4-5 hours then cut it in cubes.

Hi please advise we need to add sugar too in the above mixture right?? N then later again roll them in sugar once it is set n kept for 5 hrs

Hi i tried this recipe but it still looks unsettled. I tool exactly 500 GMs sugar and 2 tsp of gelatin. Pls help how to fix it.

Yes shikha...u need to add 500 gms sugar with gelatin...then once set cut into small square or diamond shape and roll it in sugar and dry them for another hour or so

With kids around it will not remain. You can store them for 2 weeks or more in an airtight container.
